Our new Center. Plenty of elbow room. At more than 2.3 million square feet, the new Center is by far the largest building ever in Washington DC. Covering six city blocks, it has nearly 725,000 square feet of prime exhibit space and a 52,000 square foot ballroom that comfortable sits 3,000 for dinner. All tours are significantly enhanced if visitors stop by the White House Visitor Center before or after their tour.
The Center is open seven days a week from 7:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. and features many aspects of the White House, including its architecture, furnishings, first families, social events, relations with the press and world leaders, as well as a thirty-minute video. Allow between 20 minutes to 1 1/2 hours to explore the exhibits. The White House Historical Association also sponsors a sales area. Please note that restrooms are available, but food service is not.

The White House.
Tours of the White House have been extended to school-aged youth groups and organized veterans groups in addition to school groups. School groups are defined as students in grades 4 through 12 and who are enrolled in the same school or school district. Group requests may be submitted through one's Member of Congress. These self-guided group tours will be scheduled from 7:45 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

The Washington Monument is OPEN.

The Washington Monument is OPEN. In order to enter the Washington Monument, tickets are required. Reservations for the Washington Monument may be made by calling 1-800-967-2283 or over the internet at http://reservations.nps.gov. Those making advanced reservations will be charged $1.50 service fee per ticket, plus a $.50 handling fee per order. Free tickets are distributed for that day's visit from the kiosk on the Washington Monument grounds at 15th Street and Madison Drive on a first-come first-served basis. Hours for the ticket kiosk are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, but tickets run out early.
Memorial Day through Labor Day, 8:00 a.m. to 11:45 p.m.; rest of the year, 9:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.; closed December 25. Please note, no food, drink, or large bags are allowed in the monument.
